Jeremy Burgess, Founder
Graduating from Bath University
Whilst studying at the University of Bath for a degree in Computer Software Technology, Jeremy joined Hewlett-Packard on an industrial placement. There he was the assistant developer and principal business analyst on an internal project to develop a CRM solution on the Lotus Domino platform serving HP's direct sales operation. The project was delivered in 1997 to divisions throughout EMEA.
After graduating from University in 1998 Jeremy returned to HP and joined a project examining the approval process workflow in the $1bn manufacturing environment at the Bristol site. Later on that year he formed a development team and delivered a fully automated electronic approval system using Microsoft ASP integrated with an Oracle data warehouse.
Arq and the .COM era
Jeremy left HP in late 1999 and joined Arq Ltd, a young development company in Bath. Building Alliance in Canon UK
After getting married in 2001 Jeremy moved away from the mild lunacy of the .COM environment into a consulting role within Canon UK's newly formed Solutions Group. Over the next 6 years Jeremy worked his way up through the company through professional services, Corporate & International Accounts and in 2006 was appointed to the new role of Software Alliance Manager, reporting to the board and forging Canon's executive-level relationships with companies such as Microsoft, Interwoven and OpenText.
Jeremy was head-hunted to join Anite Plc's Public Sector information management team (AIM) in late 2007 but the appointment was not as expected. This short period led to the eureka moment when Jeremy remembered that riches were not a guarantee of work satisfaction, and he has always maintined that the day work ceases to be satisfying is the day to leave.

The personal and commercial relationships that Jeremy built during his time at Canon and the combination of experiences in his career to data led to his committment to make GoldFigure a successful business and so in early 2008 GoldFigure Ltd was born...
