Click2Scan started life as a low overhead online shop owned by Bristol company, Solar Communications, competing in the fiercely competitive document scanner hardware marketplace. Margins are only a few percentage points and this new venture was hoped to support the document management consulting team within Solar. An attractive and efficient eCommerce engine was required if Click2Scan were to thrive.
Since its beginnings in 2006 Click2Scan has grown to be a specialist document scanning business in its own right. Within the scanner sales division, a completely automated sales and purchase order process ensures that the Click2Scan staff are able to concentrate on providing outstanding advice and customer service whilst the mechanics of an online business manage themselves. In just 18 months Click2Scan have become one of the top 5 retailers for Canon document scanners.
In June 2008 Click2Scan engaged GoldFigure on a monthly retainer to concentrate on trouncing the Click2Scan competition by elevating the Click2Scan websites from front-page Google results to #1 ranking in it's key business areas. An SEO analysis was undertaken and Joomla subsequently employed to manage website content outside the store. Within a couple of weeks the high volume document scanner rental division, www.scannerhire.co.uk, ranked #1 on Google for the search term 'scanner hire'. With sensible logic applied this is still the case.
