Microsoft Office AccountingI heard this week that Microsoft have decided to pull Microsoft Office Accounting from their portfolio. What were they thinking? Had they realised that business apps like this aimed at SME ought to be delivered online?

GoldFigure listed as a KashFlow API developer

Kashflow logoFollowing our recent success with the VPASP sync for KashFlow™ application we are now listed as a Kashflow API developer.

KashFlow is an easy to understand accounting system aimed at UK small businesses. GoldFigure has used Kashflow for over a year and find it an invaluable tool in our business. Many of our clients now also use Kashflow and we have a very close working relationship with our accountant who is also a KashFlow partner.

KashFlow is a provided as Software as a Service (SaaS) and has an excellent SOAP API which has already been used to develop several KashFlow add-ons including our own. As well as VPASP sync for KashFlow we have developed a number of other utilities to meet specific customer needs. Do you need us to do the same for you?

Every cloud has a silver lining (GoldFigure gets a new look)

Today I needed to warn the world about Streamline.net hosting in our blog. I had to ring the 'please don't leave us' department to confirm I was cancelling our hosting despite having raised a support ticket to the same effect. That phone call this morning threatened to drain 20 minutes of my life away so I fought back!

Artisteer is my friend. In the 21 minutes and 33 seconds to took to extricate GoldFigure from Streamline's clutches I blogged about how bad they are (and they really are!) and I gave our website a whole new look. We were getting a little bored with the weighty greens of the old template so freshened the whole thing up with a clean, more minimal image. Not bad for 20 minutes.

Your feedback is welcome... just Tweet @goldfigure.

We have christened the door buzzer

GoldFigure / Sam Missingham door buzzerFinally... we have christened our door buzzer with a new label. Thanks to Mark Probert at Design Pro Ltd for his input... most of our procrastination was due to a creative block on how to split the graphic in a way to distinguish between GoldFigure and Sam Missingham, social media marketing guru, who we share our office with.

Having been in our new office for 2 months it was about time but worth the wait we think!
